THE PROCEDURE
FAQ
How long are the waiting times?
There are short (up to 1 month) waiting times for the treatments in our partner clinics.
Hence, you can receive the required treatment at the most convenient time for you. This is due to a huge capacity of Lithuanian healthcare, which is one of the top EU nations by doctors and hospital beds per capita.
What about an online consultation?
You will get a free & non-binding online consultation, during which:
1) your doctor will investigate your individual case,
2) look to your medical history,
3) check what preparations you need,
4) what are the possible risks involved,
5) what after-care you will need and
6) answer any other questions which may arise.
What about post-treatment care?
The descriptions of treatments give recommendations for aftercare, such as a recommended minimum stay in Lithuania and what to avoid doing after treatment. We advise you to follow these, so you can get all the necessary post-treatment rehabilitation you need and recover just fine.
During the initial free online consultation our doctors will further guide you through everything you need to know about aftercare. Even after you are back in your home country, MedTravel Solutions will check on your condition and will provide the required assistance.
In some special cases, you may need special care after you leave Lithuania; if that is the case, we will ask you beforehand to inform your local primary care specialist prior to the trip so that they can take necessary care of you.
Do I have to go to see a doctor in my home country before a medical tourism trip?
Each individual case is different; therefore, our doctors offer you a free online consultation before going to Lithuania. They will closely inspect your needs and tell you what preparations are necessary while you are in your home country. Thus you will know whether you require a doctors consultation prior to surgery or not.
What if my insurance covers the treatment?
As Lithuania is a member of European Union, a European Health Insurance card is valid in Lithuania. Also EU directive 2011/24/EU allows to ask for reimbursement from your healthcare insurance provider even if you over go the procedure in another EU member state. For more information, please inquire us or contact your insurance broker.
For Canadian Citizens planned surgeries are not covered under the government health plans.
