Thinking about a breast lift?

Breast sagging leads to a less youthful appearance of breasts. It is a common problem following pregnancies, weight loss and aging. This can be addressed with a boob lift abroad.

Breast lift abroad

A Breast Uplift starts with surgeons moving the nipple and areola (to a higher position). At the same time, excess skin from beneath the breast is removed. When closing the remaining skin, the breast mound is 1) lifted higher, and 2) recontoured (for a more projected and youthful appearance).

  • youthful, more projected breasts

  • Can be combined with: tummy tuck, liposuction, breast augmentation

  • World-class clinic based in Lithuania, EU. Trustpilot rating of 4.8/5

Breast uplift abroad can also be combined with a tummy tuck or liposuction (this is also known as mommy make-over).

Breast uplift step by step:

  1. If the nipple is below the breast crease, breast uplift will move it to its normal (higher) position.

  2. To change the nipple’s position, a small amount of skin from beneath the breast has to be removed. As every patient’s body is unique, the amount of skin to be cut out might vary; however, in most cases it is not significant.

  3. Then the skin is brought back together and the breast mound is lifted/recontoured. This makes the breast look younger and fuller.

To achieve the wanted size, shape and projection a saline-filled breast implant may be used during the surgery (this is called breast augmentation + uplift). It’s placed beneath the breast. Yet, it is optional and only necessary when there is inadequate breast tissue. Your surgeon will always advise you on this.

Why people opt for breast reduction?

Patients with full, heavy breasts might suffer various problems related to the shape and size of their breasts. For example, back and neck pain, painful marks left on the shoulders because of the bra, and pain in the breasts themselves. In addition to that, some women experience discomfort by the look of large breasts or are discouraged from doing active sports. Breast reduction surgery is useful to reduce these issues or in some cases even eliminate them entirely.

After breast uplift

One day after the surgery the patient can continue with limited activities and will, usually, be fully recovered in 3-4 weeks. Patients are ready to fly back home in 5-7 days’ time.

If needed, the pain can be reduced by taking painkillers. The stitches are removed on the very last day of the patient’s stay abroad. Following the surgery, the patient can breastfeed normally because milk glands are not affected. Nonetheless, if the implant is used there is a higher risk of development of some implant-related issues (you can read more about it here).

When the breast is healed completely, it will have a more attractive youthful look. Needless to say, aging will still happen, and the sagging might re-appear in the future.

Possible scars after breast uplift

Although the post-surgery scar will be visible, in one year it will obtain a colour, very similar to the skin around it. The size of the scar depends on the amount of skin that was removed during the surgery. In most cases, the scar is around the nipple, but if the amount of removed skin is bigger, the scar will continue as a straight line below the nipple. During the free consultation with our surgeon, you will be provided with all the information on possible scarring and what results to expect.

In case of sagging, the incisions and scars are like the ones from a breast reduction. If the sagging is not excessive, mastopexy can be done with not-so-significant scars.

What about the possible complications and what if something goes wrong?

As with any other surgery, there is a small risk of complications, such as slow healing, infection or bleeding, and reduction of sensitivity of the nipple. Minor asymmetry in the size and shape of the breasts or the position of the nipple and areola might be noticeable.

While still in Lithuania: in case you are feeling unwell or there is anything abnormal, you will be immediately checked upon by the medical personnel. Should there be a need for a follow-up procedure, it would be carried out for you free of charge.

Complication in the later stages of the recovery is even rarer and most of the time not an emergency. If they happen, our surgeon would consult you online and explain the steps to take.
