It was a wonderful experience from my first telephone conversation with Marius to the day I left Lithuania following a very successful Surgery with MD Aurimas Sirka. The Surgeon came and updated me several times and I had several Physio sessions as well. I am currently taking Physio for strengthening my hip here in Cochrane. Dr. Miller was very kind and I quickly made my decision after my appointment with him. All in all I wish I would have had the Surgery two years ago. Highly recommend Med Travel solutions. Thank you. len powerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Well what can I say about word of mouth, I discovered Med Travel Solutions from a friend who had been to Lithuania for a hip replacement, I had a consultation with Dr Miller in June 2025 and I was approved as a good candidate for Bi Lateral knee replacement, I decided Sept would work best for me and I spoke to Marius Jonelis ,to move forward and arrange everything . Marius called back after researching flights, hotels, surgery schedules etc and I committed to going. Flights were great, Karolis pick us up at the Vilinus airport and drove us to Kaunas to the hotel , what a great city Kaunas is the old city where we stayed was very clean and full of history etc, on the 25th of Sept I was picked up to go to the Gijos Klinikos for surgery and rehab stay until Oct 5th, First step was ekg, bloodwork and xray to ensure no issues prior to surgery, Dr Linas Zeniavskas came to see me while I was getting changed for the operation, he explained exactly what was going to happen and showed me the knee replacement components, very nice Dr down to earth made you feel at ease, the Anesthestist came in for a talk as did V from the physio department, Off to the op room which was state of the art very clean throughtout the whole clinic, Operation went well I woke up as the Dr Linas was putting the compression socks on and he showed me my legs had full range of motion I gave him the thumbs up, I spent 2 days in intensive care , what a great bunch of caring nurses can't say enough about the care given, then the work began , Will from physio came in the day of the operation tried to get me to stand up with the use of a walker I wasn't all there and only got halfway up, day 2 got up about every hr, on the 3rd day I was moved to the physio rehab ward, private room, very nice facility, from the 27th of Sept to Oct 5th it was physio twice a day and message, Will was my main one on one physio instructor and Simone would be there when Will was busy with others both pushed me to do better and to get my balance ,range of motion and confidence up each day was an improvement, I looked forward to the massages as they were much appreciated after physio, the nurses in the Physio ward were great as was the food and service provided, All in all the place is amazing and I am extremely happy with the results, Thank you to everyone who looked after me . your professionalism, kindness and caring mean't a great deal in my recovery, I highly recommend this facility and group of people to take care of your needs . thank you Len. Everything in between arrival at the clinic and departure was well organized, including rides to and from the airport, hotels and the clinic. The surgeon (Dr. Linas) spent his valuable time before and after surgery to discuss any questions and/or concerns my husband and I had and made us feel very comfortable about the surgery and recovery.❤️🩹 The staff at the clinic were attentive and kind. I highly recommend Marius and his team at Med Solutions. Heather Jo Blundell-GosselinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Overall my experience was great. Marius did a wonderful job in making all the arrangements and keeping communication open to ensure all our concerns were heard and met with. The trip over and back were mostly problem free and the issue we had with W/C support at Calgary and Amsterdam airports were outside his ability to have any control over. W/C. Assistance on the return trip was awesome. The clinic was spotless and Nursing was for the most part excellent. I did have some concerns with regard to communication on my chart regarding medications. I was specifically told following my surgery by a female Dr.that I was to continue on my own meds (specifically my own blood thinner and Pantoprazole) which I had brought with me when to my surprise (and thankfully I asked) the nurse brought in some pills which were a blood thinner and Pantoprazole for me to take. I am a Nurse so I was truly shocked that this could happen and that somehow the fact I would be taking my own meds was NOT communicated on the chart. I did talk with ? the Ward clerk ( tall slim blonde) but was really not satisfied with the response however this could be a communication issue. One of my other concerns and suggestion for improvement for your patients is regarding the medications that were given to me in the clinic bag at discharge. While I greatly appreciated this very thoughtful gesture, it would may be even more helpful if one of the Nursing staff had spent a few minutes with me to review what each of the medications were, what they were used for, and timing of doses to have best effect, particularly on trip home. Another issue that I didn’t have any information on was the use of the anti embolism stockings. A nurse removed these on my second (?3 rd day) post op and said nothing about the need to continue wearing them and I’m still not sure whether that was ok or whether I should have been wearing them. I assumed that I didn’t need to because of my blood thinner but it was not communicated at all and I’m still not clear on that issue. Lastly, I have Celiacs disease (not something I would wish on anyone) and this proved somewhat problematic while in the clinic as there was no specific menu for gluten free and trying to find something safe to eat proved to be a challenge. There were some good choices on the vegetarian menu which I appreciated but I was never sure with some of the menu items whether they were safe. A kitchen staff did go out and find what looked like a delicious gluten free roll that they gave me for breakfast in my last few days but by that time I was extremely fearful about any bread product that I wasn’t 100% sure of so I stuck with the GF bread that my husband had bought for me and was stored in the unit fridge. Overall, the food was OK but I would suggest they find some other salad dressings that are more flavourful and have less oil. I love salads and include them daily in my evening meal but after the first 5 days of clinic salads, I was ready to swear off them forever. That said, it is hospital/clinic food so expectations need to be tempered . The additional fruit and yogurt was appreciated but I had to remember to ask for it. However, Marius from MedTravel Solutions co-ordinates all aspects of the journey from seeing a local referring physician in Canada to organizing wheelchair service for the homebound journey, and everything in between. He ensures everything is going well, with several check ins through out the process, including while you are in the clinic. The surgeon, anesthesiologist, doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, transfer agents are all very kind, attentive and speak good English. The level of care is far superior compared with my previous surgery in Alberta, and as a result I estimate my mobility is about two months ahead of what would be considered typical. Factoring in travel costs, my surgery including a week of physio cost 30% less than having private surgery out of province in Canada, (excluding travel or physio costs). I have no hesitation in recommending MedTravel Solutions - the short wait times, comparative cost effectiveness and level of care/service make it a clear winner in my mind. From the airplanes to the person that picked us up to the clinic facility, physio, and the staff at the facility were excellent. I would recommend to only use this company. It was worth every penny for my hip replacement. A huge thank you to all. Bonnie CainTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So amazing. I am now home, 4 weeks out from a double knee replacement and my friends and family and physio are amazed by my progress. From Marius taking care of everything to the amazing surgeon to Thomas looking after us in Lithuania to Vee who tortured (jk) us in the workout room. From 7 am with the lymphatic drainage and tens stimulation, to breakfast to physio to massage then back for lunch to rest to physio. I am at least 2 months ahead of anyone in Canada getting surgery. Med travel thinks of everything. The private room and amazing food and nurses!! I say amazing a lot but it was. I did the math and compared to Montreal, Cancun and the mayo and Lithuania was hands down cheaper but to be honest after the whole experience I would have paid more for the unique service they provide. And on top of that Lithuania is beautiful and safe and clean and the people are amazing and speak English. I would not hesitate to urge my friends and family members to go there and when I need a hip replacement I will not even bother with the system in Alberta. Marg AshbyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was the best decision I have made. The whole experience was great. I could not have been taken care of any better and I have told so many people about it. Yes, I am continuing on my healing journey but to be pain free is incredible. Thank you all at MedTravel Solutions for being with me on this journey. Carrie StewartTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The whole experience from beginning to end was so simple. 5 star service, we are so happy with everything, Marius was wonderful and took care of everything! The hip surgery was two weeks ago and everything is great! We would recommend to anyone needing surgery to contact Marius at Med Travel! It was far cheaper than Canada and ten times the service! Added bonus, Lithuania and everyone there was wonderful! CandaceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My journey here in Alberta for severe osteoarthritis in my hip was 3-4 years to even meet with a surgeon, then a 1-2 year wait for the surgery according to my GP. I immediately started researching. I checked out many countries and the seamless approach MedTravel Solutions offered was one of a kind. Marius has every detail figured out, and Dr. Linus, nurses, anesthesiologist, massage, drivers and our follow up Dr. Miller in Calgary are all kind, caring professionals who are excellent at their job. It’s evident they want you to have the best result possible. Excellent physio, which is so important. ‘V’ is awesome. By the way, the food is great as well. The Lithuanian people are wonderful. I am 5 weeks post op, and my results have been amazing. Highly recommend them, you won’t be disappointed.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
